Alain de Jonge focuses on real estate law and is an established name in the field of tenancy law. Alain advises and litigates for governments, provinces and, in particular, municipalities in the field of urban renewal, inner city developments and restructuring. In addition, Alain acts for developers, real estate funds and investors in various redevelopments and transformations. In recent years, Alain has regularly advised major users of industrial sites, particularly in the Rotterdam Port area. In addition to tenancy law, his areas of practice include purchase, leasehold, sale/lease-back, property management and ownership (squatting, separation and division). Consideration for managerial and social relations and commercial impact are at the heart of Alain’s varied public and private practice.

Alain graduated from the University of Leiden. Additionally, he spent a year studying at the University of Florida. After his studies, Alain joined Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuyn as a lawyer in 1992. In 2005 he became chairman of the real estate department. In 2012, Alain was appointed as managing partner of this firm, a position he fulfilled for five years. As of May 1, 2023, Alain joined Ploum as partner.
Alain de Jonge has registered the following principal (and secondary) practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister)
Based on this registration, Alain de Jonge is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principla legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
