Sophie Cairo

Specialisation

Sophie Cairo is an attorney within the Construction & Real Estate team, where she handles a wide range of legal issues in the fields of procurement law and construction law. Sophie provides legal advice and litigates on various procurement and construction law matters in the broadest sense, both during the (preparation of the) procurement procedure and throughout the execution of a project. In the area of procurement law, Sophie advises both contracting authorities on procurement-related issues and market parties on participating in procurement procedures. In the area of construction law, she advises on procurement strategies, contracting strategies, and the execution of various types of construction contracts.

Background

Sophie studied International Politics and Law at Leiden University. In 2024, she completed her master’s degree in Civil Law at Leiden University, where her thesis focused on 'the property law classification of digital real estate.' During her studies, Sophie worked in various roles, including as a civil servant with the Royal Military Police.
