The shareholder of Yes! Kinderopvang (childcare) has signed an agreement whereby all shares in Yes! Kinderopvang will be acquired by AcadeMedia. This acquisition includes 22 day-care centres with 1,400 places in the Netherlands. After 35 years and reaching retirement age, owner-director of Yes! Kinderopvang Iris Henry has bid farewell to her organisation. She has found in AcadeMedia a party that suits Yes! Kinderopvang. She transferred the ownership on 15 April 2025.
AcadeMedia is one of the largest educational organisations in Northern Europe. It is a Swedish organisation that has been providing education and care services for decades. They operate in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Finland, Poland, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. With more than 450 day-care centres in five countries, there is a lot of experience within the organisation.
In the Netherlands, AcadeMedia's childcare business is still quite new and small with ten daycare and extracurricular childcare locations. With the acquisition of Yes! Kinderopvang, they are taking a first big step towards further growth. They characterise Yes! Kinderopvang as an organisation with a strong reputation, rich culture and distinctive DNA.
