Lisanne Bruggeman

Specialisation

Lisanne has been an attorney since 2020. She works in the IP & IT section and specializes in information law. She advises companies on a variety of matters in this area, with a particular focus on privacy and IT issues.

Background

Lisanne studied law at Leiden University. She lived abroad for a year. First in Paris for an exchange program at Sciences Po, then in Brussels for an internship at the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the EU. After returning to the Netherlands, she pursued a master's degree in Information Law at the Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam. In addition, she worked at a law firm and as a court clerk at the District Court of Rotterdam.

Lisanne is president of the Dutch Association for Young Privacy Lawyers (JPAN). She previously served on JPAN’s congress committee. Before, Lisanne was a board member of the Study Association for Information Law (SViR) and of Rechtswinkel Westland, a local legal aid clinic.

  • Drafting privacy and cookie statements, reviewing data records and data processing agreements, performing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), advising on data breaches
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating general terms and conditions, license agreements, NDAs and SLAs
  • Conducting bank and evidence seizures and exhibit proceedings
  • Advising and litigating on copyright infringements
  • Advising on new legislation, such as the Digital Services Act, Data Act and Data Governance Act

Lisanne Bruggeman has registered the following principal (and secondary) practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister)

Based on this registration, Lisanne Bruggeman is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principla legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
