Within Ploum’s notarial team, Arjen is a corporate lawyer and candidate civil law notary who mainly deals with matters in the field of corporate law and notarial security documentation (pledge and mortgage rights) and assists on specific real estate transactions.
Arjen has been working with Ploum since 2020, where he mainly advises and assists clients on matters concerning national and international corporate law. In 2012 he obtained his Master of Laws degree (LL.M, notarial law) at the University of Groningen. Before joining Ploum, he gained seven years of experience with a large international law firm. He is involved in the (re)structuring of corporate structures and partnerships, amendment of constitutional documents, financing rounds, assisting on mergers and acquisitions, setting up joint ventures and setting up companies, foundations and cooperatives. In addition, he specializes in assisting clients with corporate law aspects of national and international financing transactions and the associated establishment of notarial security rights. Arjen also assists on specific real estate transactions, especially in the energy sector, including the establishment of rights of superficies and mortgage rights. He is a member of Ploum’s Energy team. On 16 June 2022, Arjen was appointed Assigned civil law notary.
