Michelle Roosma

Specialisation

Michelle specializes in managing the trademark and design portfolios of national and international companies and providing them with strategical advice regarding further expansion of their portfolio.

Michelle also has experience in advising on- and conducting various proceedings relating to intellectual property rights, such as oppositions and nullity proceedings and other infringement cases.

Background

Michelle graduated from Leiden University in 2017 with a Master’s degree in Corporate Law with a specialization in Intellectual Property Law. During her studies, she did an internship within the legal profession and she was active as trainer for the practical course Mootcourt at the Leiden University. Prior to joining Ploum, Michelle worked at the law firm Eversheds Sutherland.

In 2021 Michelle has successfully passed her BBMM exam.

Michelle is an official BMM Trademarkt Attorney.

Examples of recent work

Over the past year, Michelle has advised e.g. a well-known Dutch company in the beer and soft drinks industry regarding further expansion and monitoring their global trademark and design portfolio.
