Sjoerd litigates and advises in the field of Corporate and Commercial Litigation. He focuses in particular on shareholder disputes, including enquiry proceedings and disputes concerning the compulsory transfer or acquisition of shares, as well as directors' liability. In addition, Sjoerd assists clients in disputes over (international) commercial contracts and advises on governance issues within legal entities.
Sjoerd has been working at Ploum in the Dispute Resolution department since 2026. He was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2022 and, prior to joining Ploum, worked at BLD Ekelmans. He obtained both a master's degree in Civil Law and a master's degree in Public Administration from Leiden University and, as part of the Honours Programme, studied for two months at Peking University in China. During his studies, he worked at various law firms and served as a deputy clerk at The Hague District Court. Since October 2025, Sjoerd has been a board member of the Hague Young Bar Association (Vereniging de Jonge Balie Den Haag).
