Romy de Jong


Romy specializes in customs law. She mainly advises clients on customs law issues, in particular in the field of post-clearance recovery of customs or anti-dumping duties, origin or classification of goods and license applications.


Romy completed her bachelor of Law in Rotterdam. She wrote her thesis on the concept of exporter in customs legislation. Romy has already gained several years of experience in customs law. During her law studies she first worked as a legal assistant in customs and commercial law at a law form and then as a declarant at a customs broker.

Examples of recent work

  • Romy assists importers and customs brokers in proceedings against customs regarding disputes about, among others, anti-dumping duties, origin and classification.
  • In addition, she is involved in due diligence investigations in acquisitions of customs brokers.
  • She also advices customs brokers on representation, tariff classification and sanction regulations.
