Paul is working on the section IP/IT and is specialized in intellectual property rights. He concentrates especially on trademark and copyright law and privacy and data protection law.
In 2019 Paul obtained his master’s degree in Information Law at the Institute for Information Law of the University of Amsterdam. He wrote his thesis about the influence of the ‘uploadfilter’ of article 17 DSM-directive on user generated content platforms. In addition to his studies, Paul did various internships at law firms, including at a niche firm in the field of intellectual property law and at Ploum. Moreover, Paul was closely involved in setting up a FinTech start-up during his studies. In 2018, Paul started as a working student at Ploum. He has been working at Ploum as a legal consultant since September 2019. He has been working as an attorney at law since January 2020.

Based on this registration, Paul is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
