Michelle Westhoeve

Specialisation

Michelle works in the Employment Law team as an attorney-at-law. She is specialized in employment law in a broad sense, and is involved in matters regarding i.a. works councils, restructurings, individual dismissal cases and questions relating to (collective) employment conditions. Next to this, Michelle is also a member of Ploum’s Privacy team. Michelle regularly advises about privacy and data protection related matters, especially in an employment context. Michelle assists employers, as well as employees and works councils.

Background

Michelle has graduated from the Erasmus University Rotterdam (2016) with a Master’s degree in Dutch Civil Law, and from Leiden University (2017) with a Master’s degree in Employment Law. While in university, Michelle joined Ploum as a student paralegal. As of January 2018, Michelle works as an attorney-at-law, specialised in employment and privacy law. She completed a post-academic course in employment law (‘PALA’) in 2022.

Michelle is a member of the Association of Rotterdam Employment Lawyers (‘Vereniging van Rotterdamse Arbeidsrecht Advocaten (VRAA)’)  and the Privacy Law Association (‘Vereniging Privacy Recht (VPR)’).

Michelle Westhoeve has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

  • Employment law (arbeidsrecht)

Based on this registration, Michelle Westhoeve is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
